TITLE: In Contrasts

Jarek is gay. He has always felt like a man and refers to himself as such. Yet he creates his own alter ego — a world of costume, light, and opulence, where he can, if only for a moment, forget his loneliness and unfulfilled desires. This is not a story about dressing up, but about the need for closeness, love, and acceptance. The exaggerated image becomes a response to a sense of rejection — the greater the inner void, the stronger the need to shine, provoke, and be noticed. Beneath this form also lie rebellion, self-destruction, substance use, and risky relationships which, instead of bringing solace, often deepen the emptiness.
