TITLE: The Walking Dead
Portrait of a 66-year-old man suffering from a terrible illness in a slum in the Malate district of Manila, Philippines. At the age of 12, he underwent his first surgery for a lymph node or cyst on his back; subsequently, his mysterious anatomical condition gradually spread throughout his body, eventually disfiguring him. He also suffers from a related lung condition for which he must take medication that is too expensive for him. My title, borrowed from the famous horror television series, refers to the t-shirt he was wearing that day. Since the blisters were also present on his hands, the simple act of putting on and taking off clothes was very difficult for him.
