TITLE: MahaKumbh - World's Largest Gathering

A once-in-144 years phenomenon. Ash-smeared Hindu holy men (Naga Sadhus) charged into India's most sacred river Ganges at dawn on the first most significant bathing day of the Kumbh Mela festival. An extraordinary display of human unity, spiritual energy, and collective consciousness.

This photo was a result of a mix of patience, respect, and intuition. At the Kumbh, I was very mindful not to disturb the rituals or step into the Sadhus’ spiritual world. That is why I chose to use a drone, staying at a distance yet close enough to follow their movements. From above, the entire scene unfolded like a living tapestry of rituals, tradition, and human energy.
Then came the moment I had been waiting for. A Sadhu, carried by his own spiritual intensity, suddenly jumped onto the bonnet of a jeep. In that instant I knew ,this was the frame I had been searching for. It was raw, powerful, and completely unplanned, yet it held the essence of the Kumbh in one shot. I didn’t have to think twice, I just took the picture.

Looking back, that frame stood out not because it was technically perfect, but because it carried the unpredictability, devotion, and spirit of an event that happens only once in 144 years. That was the moment I realised I had captured something worth sharing with the world, something that would live on as part of history.
