TITLE: Washed up
This nude self portrait of me hidden in the shoreline feels a bit Where’s Waldo to me. I shot this in Humboldt County California in 2018 on medium format, black-and-white film

I’ve loved photography since my grandpa put his camera in my hands when I was 11. I’ve explored and experimented with a range of different styles, subjects, themes, film and digital formats, techniques, and other elements that I felt drawn to and styles and techniques that I was scared of, I want to try it all. dark room printing is something that has been a major part of my photography journey. Being in a darkroom printing my 35 mm film is where everything makes sense to me. I have done photography professionally in a range of focuses and for a range of professional and commercial Feilds. But most of the photos that I have that have meant the most to me were done just to create something for myself and to see if I could get the idea in my head to come to life and if not to see how the idea in my head can mutate. Some of my photos have a lot of emotion behind them and it’s not just from the ideas themselves. I’ve had ideas tell me no, environments tell me no, subjects tell me no, tell me that an image wouldn’t be possible and I love that challenge and I use the obstacles to discover and invent methods and maneuvers and create tools to get around the problems and get my shot whether it turns out the way I wanted or not, I will find or create a way, because the process of what it took to get the image is so often almost or just as meaningful and memorable as the image itself. I love getting to create new stories and memories every time I go out with my camera.
