A scientist turned photographer.

I am passionate about the art of photography.

I got my first camera when I was 6 years old and fighting for my life. My father thought it would take my mind of my sudden illness. I took B&W portraits with people's heads partly cut off!! But my love for photography did start from that early age.

Having lived, out of necessity in many countries (becoming a refugee after the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Russians in 1968) and different cultures, my first love was to photograph people and their way of life. But then I became a scientist and work took over.

Now I can concentrate on photography again, and this time my main focus is on our four, six and eight legged friends. Being disabled, this does, on occasions, pose interesting problems. But the photo gets taken. However I love all genres of photography and am always ready to try something new.

My photography education includes a degree of Professional Photography from the New York school of Photography, as well as passing my licentiate with the Royal Society of Photography and my Craftsmanship with the Guild of Photographers.

I have won a number of photographic competitions and had a number of photographs exhibited in France and other countries. A number of my photos have been published in various magazines (National Geographic Traveller Magazine, Digital Photographer and others as well books and photographic sites such as Shutterbug, digitalcameraworld.com and PetaPixel).

I also run a few zoom-based workshop(s) via the Royal Society of Photography.
