TITLE: Trouble in the herd of Buffalos

Trouble in the herd of Buffalos. I was able to take this picture from a hide in Zimanga, South Africa in September. On that morning a large herd of Buffalos (Syncerus caffer) were approaching the waterhole fast. Some of them were quite calm , others were more in a rush. It was an amazing moment, to be able to see them this close. Then you start to worry a little bit... especially when they start a little fight right in front of you. Wow, these Buffalos are such intriguing mammals and the group dynamics are very interesting to observe. The Zimanga reserve is located in north-eastern KwaZulu-Natal, set in the heart of Zululand. This picture was taken with a 70mm lens, I overexposed a little bit (+0.3) .
