TITLE: Adagietto

This series draws deep inspiration from the melody of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, the "Adagietto."
I sought to visually translate the sensation of suspended time and the yearning that seems to ascend from the earthly to the celestial, as evoked by the strings and harp of this movement.
The first portrait signifies a state of deep introspection and waiting within the darkness.
The subsequent sequence of stairs represents the soul’s ascent toward the light, mirroring the musical crescendo. While the blurred imagery captures the pain and beauty of the process ,floating on the boundary between reality and dream the final silhouette, standing amidst the light, symbolizes the moment of purification and transcendence finally reached.
Through the restrained language of black and white, light and shadow, this work is a photographic record of the sublime love and longing for eternity that Mahler portrayed through his music.
