TITLE: Human – An Almost Perfect Being
The human figure can approach perfection. Gender remains undefined. A beautiful face, dissolved into softness, reveals only the ideal symmetry of its form. The contour of the headpiece is emphasized — an accessory that becomes an instrument of refinement, a gesture toward an even greater perfection.
Austere symmetry and a concentration on minimalist form are central to the composition. Equally important to me is the technical dimension of medium-format photography as a medium itself: the exploration of an extremely shallow depth of field and the possibility of achieving monumental enlargements rich in detail and tonal subtlety.
No retouching is employed. The lighting is carefully constructed, and every composition is created in-camera, always from the full frame.
