TITLE: Eternal Bonds

This photograph was taken at the Brion Tomb (Italy), a memorial complex designed by architect Carlo Scarpa in 1969. Conceived as a place of meditation rather than a conventional cemetery, the Brion Tomb is a carefully orchestrated sequence of spaces, thresholds, and perspectives, where architecture guides movement, vision, and thought.

Commissioned by Onorina Tomasin-Brion after the death of her husband Giuseppe Brion, the complex is built around themes of union, continuity, and passage. These ideas are most clearly expressed through the iconic interlocking circles, symbols of connection that extends beyond physical presence.

At the time this image was made, the photographer had recently lost her dog. Encountering this figure within the Brion Tomb resonated deeply, aligning with the symbolic language of the site. Framed by the interlocking circles, it becomes a quiet reference to connection of bonds that persist beyond presence and time.
