A row of black granite columns stands between the viewer and the building. The columns divide the view into vertical panels, and their polished surfaces also reflect the same façade visible between them — so that the building appears twice within a single frame, original and mirrored image alternating across the rhythm of the granite. Each reflection is a reply and the colonnade becomes a thread of repeated answers to a single sender. Shot on Ilford HP5+, pushed 1 stop.
