TITLE: The Moment They See Me

In some places, you walk knowing that the subject’s attention arrives even before the shot.
Sometimes images are born in the exact moment the person in front of you realizes they are being observed.
Made in the working-class neighborhoods of Chefchaouen, Fès, Meknès, Azrou, Midelt, Zagora —where a camera still struggles to pass unnoticed—this series collects the most sincere expressions of faces reacting without preparation, revealing a subtle balance between surprise and irritation.

I am a self-taught photographer. My photographic journey began about ten years ago by chance, when a friend placed an old Canon in my hands, which later became my first semi-professional camera. Along the way, I was fortunate to meet photographers who deeply influenced my practice, both in digital and analog photography. Most importantly, these encounters helped me understand how to shape and direct my research, which moves between social photography, reportage, and street photography.

My work focuses on people, gestures, tensions, and the sense of community, with a humble attempt to reveal what I consider an inner truth — something we might call the soul: invisible and intangible, yet clearly present.

I consider myself a student of photography rather than a photographer. Each image is an act of presence and learning, a way of slowing down and fully inhabiting the moment I am observing.
