TITLE: Binary – Duality of Being

It is a meditation on the fragile dance between opposites—life and death, creation and erasure, good and evil. It is within their tension that the essence of being unfolds. The work moves through light and shadow as if tracing the pulse of existence itself, revealing how one cannot breathe without the other.

In these images, light becomes both blessing and exposure, while darkness shelters and devours. Each photograph holds a quiet conflict—the tenderness of survival meeting the inevitability of loss. Figures emerge and dissolve, and forms waver between presence and absence, as though caught in the moment between becoming and fading.

This series does not seek to define what is pure or tainted, divine or damned. Instead, it lingers in the space where the two collapse into one another—where goodness bears its shadow, and evil wears the memory of light.

AUTHOR: Vikas Nama (United Kingdom)

He is a visual artist and photographer whose work explores the emotional and psychological landscapes of human experience. He began his formal training at the Raghu Rai Center for Photography in 2014, where he developed a deep interest in narrative and mood within imagery.

He later pursued his master’s degree at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, UK, further refining his conceptual and visual approach. His practice often navigates themes of duality, distance, and the fragile balance between light and darkness, drawing on personal experiences to evoke universal emotions of longing, identity, and transformation.

His work has received international recognition, including Second Prize in the Series category at the Miami Street Photography Festival in 2019. In 2025, his work will be exhibited at the Indian Photo Festival in India, and he was awarded 1st place in the Street category at the Annual Photos Awards 2025.
