TITLE: MUSCLE

The result of three consecutive years spent at the heart of a Kickboxing Festival, this series goes beyond simple sports commentary to focus on the very expression of effort

I wanted to capture these bodies on the verge of excess, where the musculature - pushed to its extreme - becomes a landscape of tension. My gaze was particularly drawn to the Black athletes, whose skin sculpted by sweat, enhances the energy of their forms and the raw intensity of the faces. Here, muscle is no longer just a tool of combat, but a living, vibrant, and graphic material.

Through these images, strength leaves the realm of performance to become a pure aesthetic expression : that of a power that is both sculpted and imbued with meaning.
