TITLE: Devotion to La Santa Muerte

Every first day of the month, countless pilgrims visit the altar of Santa Muerte located in the Tepito neighborhood of Mexico City, both to give thanks and to ask for favors. And besides the statues, tattoos are one of the ways people demonstrate their devotion to Santa Muerte.
I'm sharing some photos of pilgrims at the Santa Muerte altar in Tepito during a day of celebration. Each photo tells a story, represents a name, and reflects a different reality, but they all share the common thread of being guided by the same faith.
