TITLE: Portraits of Myanmar’s Kayan Community
In Myanmar, at the border with Thailand, Kayan women wearing traditional brass neck rings preserve a distinctive cultural practice passed down through generations. Often referred as the “long neck” tradition, the practice is closely tied to identity, beauty, heritage and cultural continuity. The portraits document a community whose customs have become both a source of pride and a focus of outside attention, raising questions about tradition and tourism.
