TITLE: Body, Light, Form.

The photographic project “Body, Light, Form” consists of a meditation on the relationship between the body and light. In fact, where the body is the subject, light is the means to accentuate and bring out the form, which is determined by the light itself.

Thanks to light, the body is reduced to its essence. Sometimes it is reduced to nothing more than a soft, undulating, luminous line, with the aim of accentuating its sinuous element. This new luminous element therefore has the task of making visible the invisible form of the body, made up of curves and lines that are sometimes soft and sometimes sharp.

Light also creates a contrast between flesh and spirit, between interiority and exteriority, where the exterior enhances the gentle aspect of luminosity in a symbiotic relationship of continuous exchange.

In this way, the body acquires a new visual value, becoming an enveloping and fascinating element.

I was born in Rome, Italy, in 1996.

After finishing my studies of art history in high school, I started my university course at the DAMS of the University of Roma Tre having the opportunity to deepen my knowledge about cinema and photography, their history and their authors.

Cinema and photography, along with art in general, have always been my passions.

During university, I had the opportunity to take several courses that helped me refine my skills.

During my career as an amateur photographer, instead, I had the opportunity to participate in several competitions organized by my university, winning two of them. Two photos from one of my photography projects were selected by the jury of the Passepartout Photo Prize, a photography award in Italy, and in 2023 I also had the opportunity to participate in a group exhibition organized by the Italian publishing house Pagine entitled “Immagini e parole” (Images and Words).

In addition to photography I am also interested in cinema, both from a theoretical and practical point of view, trying to carry out my projects mostly in an independent, low-budget way.

My artistic goal would be to have my work exhibited in an art gallery or museum alongside the great artists I admire and who have inspired me with their work to follow my dreams. For me, photography is as important an art form as painting, and therefore I try to approach it with the same respect and devotion.

I am more interested in photography as an expression of a concept rather than as a simple and mere representation of reality. For me, art is a message. A message that does not necessarily have to be clear and therefore forces the observer to think for themselves.
