TITLE: Where the Body Dissolves

This series explores the relationship between the human body, nature, and emotional vulnerability. Through black-and-white imagery, I use water, movement, and stillness as visual metaphors for transformation, intimacy, and the fragile connection between identity and the natural world.

The body in these photographs exists between presence and disappearance — partially hidden, dissolved into fabric, landscape, and water. I am interested in capturing moments where emotion becomes physical and silence becomes visible.

Through this work, I aim to create a quiet and intimate visual space where the viewer can reflect on beauty, fragility, and human presence beyond appearance.

My name is Elena Medyna, and I am a photographer based in Tbilisi, Georgia, working primarily in portrait photography. At the center of my work is the individual — their identity, emotional presence, and inner beauty.

Through photography, I aim to capture not only appearance, but also atmosphere, expression, character, and the subtle qualities that make each person unique. I am inspired by the idea that beauty exists in the eyes of the beholder, and this perception forms the foundation of my visual approach.

I enjoy working with people and creating images that convey sincerity, vulnerability, and genuine human presence. My practice includes participation in independent creative and artistic collaborations, where I continue to develop my visual language and explore portrait photography as a form of emotional dialogue.

This open call would represent my first experience participating in an international exhibition project and my first official publication as an artist. I see it as an important step toward further involvement in future exhibitions and artistic opportunities, and I am very excited to begin this journey through your exhibition.
