TITLE: The Measure

From the scale of the Serra,
what we build — ports, plants, chimneys, roads, dense cities — becomes a faint trace.

Mist, smoke, sea, and mountain layers dissolve into the same atmosphere.

The human system expands through the valley,
but the mountains remain the measure.

For over 15 years, I worked as an art director in advertising agencies, closely collaborating with some of Brazil’s most prominent photographers. This experience — combined with the books that have accompanied me since I first developed a deep aesthetic and conceptual interest in photography, especially the works of Sebastião Salgado and Ansel Adams — shaped the way I see. Over more than three decades of photographing, I shared my work only within a small circle. Even so, each image remained, for me, as a trace of moments that left a mark — fragments of time held in stories written through shadow and light. Now, I choose to share them with those who also see photography as a way of preserving what time insists on taking away. Since August 19, 2025 — International Photography Day — I began sharing this work publicly.
