TITLE: WRAPPERS DELIGHT
...or the art of voluntarily subjecting oneself to the permanent pain of packaging waste.
A visual, critical examination of the flood of packaging waste that every household automatically orders along with their Amazon & Co purchases every day.
I took this series using focus stacking and pixel shift. Each image consists of around 72 shots, which I then combined into a single image. The resulting images measure 120 x 120 cm.
AUTHOR: Jens Braun (Germany)
Jens Braun is a photographer, photographic artist and media designer.
He lives in the famous and beautiful Black Forest in southern Germany. He received his first analogue camera as a confirmation present from his godfather. He completed several apprenticeships as a typesetter, reprographer and photographer. Later, whilst working, he studied advertising and marketing and, after a few career detours and setbacks, set up his own agency.
He used to shoot exclusively in 6x7 on slide film; today, his focus is on digital photography. Sometimes he still gets the urge to use black-and-white film, so he grabs his old FM2 and heads into the dark Black Forest in search of harsh light and unspoilt nature. Protecting this environment is increasingly becoming his artistic focus.
His current project, ‘WRAPPERS DELIGHT’, is a visual, critical examination of the flood of packaging waste that every household automatically orders along with their Amazon & Co purchases every day.
