TITLE: Togetherness
Togetherness is my ongoing artistic journey into the meaning of human connection. I explore how bodies, gestures, and emotions create invisible threads between us. This project was created in collaboration with the Aerial Dance Berlin group, whose dancers embody both strength and fragility while moving through space. Through my photographs I want to show that closeness can take many forms — fragile, tender, powerful — and that even in moments of distance we remain connected. This work is my way of celebrating the beauty and complexity of being together.
AUTHOR: Rafał Korzeniowski (Poland)
Rafał Korzeniowski, born in 1970 in Kraków, is a Poland-based photographer working primarily with black-and-white photography, both analog and digital. Photography is a family tradition for him. His father was a photographer, and Korzeniowski’s first experiences with the medium began in childhood, experimenting in the darkroom and learning the material foundations of photographic practice.
His work focuses on human emotion, connection, and physical interdependence, often explored through staged situations and contemporary dance. Using the body as a central expressive element, he examines intimacy, tension, vulnerability, and the dynamics that emerge when individuals share space and movement. Suspended bodies in motion become a visual language through which emotional relationships are revealed.
Alongside his artistic practice, Korzeniowski has been engaged in preserving and documenting the cultural and architectural heritage of Kraków. For his contribution to the protection and documentation of the city’s heritage, he was awarded the Honoris Gratia medal by the Mayor of the City of Kraków. He is the author of several publications and has presented his work in numerous exhibitions.
