TITLE: Jasmin des bas-fonds

"Jasmin des bas-fonds" is a visual allegory about childhood trapped in geopolitical conflicts. Through this metaphorical staging, Northside France Pictures denounces contemporary imperialism and its violence, as well as the fate of children deprived of protection, growing up in an environment of hatred and despair, generated by the oppressor himself under the pretext of a so-called democracy or communitarian ideology (religion, ethnicity, etc.), planning ethnic cleansing, land dispossession, and displacement of people, particularly in Palestine.

The Ku Klux Klan outfit echoes historical events (the racial segregation suffered by African Americans), showing that the costume remains the same, only the symbol changes. By drawing a link through time, it highlights how systemic racial hierarchy persists, existing for a long time, and how abnormal it is that this continues to exist in the eyes of nations that claim to defend peace and human rights worldwide.

This series is a form of poetic resistance: a reminder that behind every display of force lie bodies, souls, lives, and stolen childhoods. The artist’s work reflects his feelings, his way of seeing the world, and above all his will to denounce the injustices he perceives, as much towards himself as towards others.
