TITLE: Don't call me FOOD

The project aims to raise awareness about food and does so by giving a theatrical spotlight to the very food we absentmindedly pick up in supermarkets, generally anonymous and packaged, responding to increasingly unconscious and unnecessary needs and habits, both in terms of taste and type. In this series, food becomes an actor and reveals its secrets, its hidden dreams, its soul, and its fears, becoming the protagonist of a parallel world to which we should start paying attention, so that its life, and consequently ours, can become better.
The title of each photograph is intended to be a first key to opening up new avenues of understanding, predisposing the viewer to an immediate visual and conceptual dialogue.
The photographs were taken between November '24 and March '25.
In developing them, I tried to keep the message alive, even before the photographic technique, so that the story, the narrative, and my intentions would prevail over the usual and normally required perfection of still life, which in this case is not perfect. I also emphasized the setting with industrial and cold tones to indicate the level of degradation that animals experience today and how dreams can still arise beautifully even from the slums of existence and the worst difficulties.

Born in Milan in 1966, I fell in love with photography (and images) as a boy, when in the
1980s Italian designers dictated the new standards of beauty and supermodels were inimitable and
unattainable icons, while the master Richard Avedon wrote the rules for new compositions
dynamics of fashion photography and National Geographic magazine made us dream of exotic places
and perfect lighting.
Self-taught in analog photography for years, I traveled extensively and did some seasonal photography work
at hotels in the Balearic Islands, but I began a much more comprehensive and
professional journey when, with the advent of digital photography, I decided to enroll at the MK3 school in
Barcelona: here I finally received the training I had always sought, learning the audio-visual art
in all its expressions and subsequently working with some advertising production companies
in the Catalan capital at the turn of the century.
After a few years, unfortunately, some personal events led me to relegate photography to
a simple hobby for a long period, until in 2024 I decided to finally give it
the space it deserves and has always clamored for, a creative and expressive need
that I have always felt as spontaneous and necessary, but which until now has never had the
freedom to manifest itself in its entirety.
I don't know where I'm going, nor how I'll get there, but what I feel is a wonderful sensation of
absolute pleasure in what I do, a pleasantly crazy infatuation, a freedom and a
joy that make me discover the world with the innocence of a young apprentice in
the life of a man who has lived and known so much, a mix seasoned with curiosity,
interests, and a desire to live the coming years of art and freedom of expression, where success or
failure will be only incidental elements, because I want to be (and truly know myself)
through my free artistic expression.
