TITLE: Faculty Of Fine Arts, Tenerife.

A series of black-and-white infrared photographs portrays the Faculty of Fine Arts in Tenerife as a place suspended between reality and abstraction. The architectural structures are stripped of weight and materiality, reduced to essential graphic lines that trace curves, arcs, and planes with a quiet precision. In infrared light, walls and surfaces lose their familiar textures, becoming luminous backdrops where form prevails over function.

Against this minimalist architectural framework, a group of palm trees emerges as the true presence of the images. Their broad leaves, transformed by infrared into immaculate white, appear almost unreal—soft, radiant forms that seem to float rather than grow. The palms stand like silent, abstract figures, their organic rhythms contrasting yet harmonizing with the geometry that surrounds them.

The architecture does not dominate but gently embraces the palms. Its sinuous, enveloping shapes curve around the trees like extended arms, creating a visual dialogue between the constructed and the natural. Lines flow into one another, blurring the boundary between nature and design, structure and gesture.

The absence of color intensifies this relationship, directing the viewer’s attention to light, contrast, and form. The infrared aesthetic removes the scene from everyday perception, transforming a familiar academic space into a contemplative landscape. What remains is a sense of stillness and balance: palms and architecture coexisting in a silent choreography, where abstraction reveals an unexpected poetry embedded in the meeting of organic life and human-made form.
