TITLE: Vertigo

A look at the world of architecture.

A look from the ground, from the street level up to the fascinating city's architecture, skyscrapers, sky…

A dizzying sensation of Vertigo, of misperception of space, similar to the one that we experience when looking downwards from the top of a skyscraper.
But here, in these Polaroid collages, Vertigo is the representation of the surprising and positive feeling of upward tension, when looking up at the city skyscrapers.
A positive vertigo, not a negative one.

A photographic look at the fantastic architectures that shape our cities, but also a close look at the details that every architect imagines to create a new building.

Architectures made even more surprising and interesting, by shooting and assembling these sequences and collages with blur or fade effects, expired films, single or multiple exposures…
All used to reimagine the shapes and the materials of these towers and to produce a vertigo sensation, but not so much to disorientate the observer, as to enhance the very architecture of the towers and the work of its creator, exalted by such a decisive and strong use of the graphic sign and composition.

A fantastic, but real, reinterpretation of every architecture
Real, analogic and tactile as real, analogic and tactile are Polaroid cameras and films.

I was born in Besnate, Italy, on May 1st 1961
I have a PhD in Economics and I am the chairman of Saporiti Italia, an Italian design and furniture company, founded by my father Sergio in 1948, doing interior design projects all over the world.

I’m in love with photography since when I was a kid.
Because of my profession, I travel a lot and I have the occasion to pass a lot of time visiting cities of the world, that I look through the lens of my Polaroid cameras.

I use many different types of Polaroid cameras and with new or expired films that, by chance or by magic, sometimes still perfectly work or, other times, return stained, wrinkled or monochrome images that I use to create my Polaroid collages.
