TITLE: Mutual fascination
As we began our trek through the rice fields, a child from the Black Hmong community came out of his house shyly to observe us.
Curious and silent, he froze for a moment, scrutinizing our passage with a gaze that was both deep and elusive.
This child exudes a presence that is both discreet and fascinating. Standing at the entrance to his house, he seems frozen in a mixture of shyness and curiosity. His intense, almost questioning gaze captures the moment with surprising depth, as if he were trying to understand our presence, to guess our story.
His posture is both anchored and hesitant: he does not dare to approach, but his body slightly forward betrays his desire to see more. He stands straight, his arms folded in front of him, a posture that reflects respectful restraint while expressing silent fascination.
What is most striking is the innocence tinged with maturity in his expression: a pure look, but filled with silent wisdom, as if, despite his young age, he already knew a lot about the world around him.
In this ephemeral scene, the contrast between his world and ours fades, giving way to a furtive but intense connection. The mist, the tin roofs and the abandoned toy accentuate the poetry of the moment, revealing all the beauty and simplicity of the encounter.
AUTHOR: Anaïs Mahieux (France)
Passionate about photography for several years, I began behind the lens by capturing the beauty of nature and landscapes.
Over time, my gaze turned towards humans, and I tend to specialize in portraiture.
I particularly like photographing children, capturing their spontaneity and authenticity in natural moments of life.
Nature remains an essential source of inspiration in my work ; I like to integrate it into my portraits to create images full of softness and emotion.
Natural light plays a key role in my compositions. It allows me to explore a wide range of moods, from warm and bright atmospheres to darker and more mystical universes.
