TITLE: Casablanca The Walk
This image is of the Hassan II Mosque. Taken during my visits to Morocco between 2022 and 2024 , a single visitor walks the exterior wall, exploring the grounds of this monumental building. The mosque sits on the Atlantic Ocean and is considered a masterwork of contemporary Arab-Muslim architecture. I was drawn to its size, design, and the sense of awe that washes over you as you witness it.
I snapped the photo because to me The Walk represents the individual journey each one of us undergoes as we move forward to spiritual awakening and enlightenment. It doesn't speak of any certain religion to me, though in this moment a member of the faithful of one specific religion is featured. From the voyeur perspective it also shows that no matter how alone we may feel in any given moment, someone is watching; whether that someone is a spectator, our own conscience, or the presence of an omniscient God.

In the tapestry of my life, woven with threads of resilience and hope, I am Snjezana—an artist whose journey began amidst the shadows of a war-torn communist country. My art is a celebration of the beauty and complexity of life, a reflection of my narrative of resilience, growth, and an unwavering love for the world.
My work transcends the canvas, seeking to inspire, move, and bring about healing. A poignant moment with a friend ignited a desire to share my art, leading to unique opportunities to showcase my creations in spaces dedicated to healing.
