TITLE: Silent Forest
Shot in rural northern California, USA following the Hog Fire in 2020. The Hog Fire burned nearly 10,000 acres and ripped through an area I have fond memories of as a kid. This aerial photograph captures a silent landscape where a forest now lies ravaged by fire and scarred by the effects of logging. The stark contrast of scorched skeletal remains of trees and tire tracks among a light dusting of snow gives witness to the harsh reminder of climate change and capitalist greed. Today, the landscape is unrecognizable, but I look forward to a time of regrowth as I know the plants and animals will come back.
