A frozen lake seems lifeless—still, flat, and without depth. But a single crack transforms everything. The crack has form, direction, width, and depth. It feels almost alive, piercing through the ice like a living vein. Stretching miles across the lake, it divides the surface, heralding the first sign of spring.
