TITLE: Illusion

Concept Description

Being is not an illusion. Being is eternal and unchanging. The real illusion is only becoming and evolving, and what apparently dies in reality only evades the gaze.

Description of the photograph

In a circle of gold, a white feather becomes the symbol of the illusion of becoming. She existed from the beginning, in a non-time, and will always exist. When the circle appears empty, the feather will not have ceased to be there.

Valentina Romanelli was born in Rome (Italy). Initially trained pharmacist and self taught photographer, she deepened her photographic technique during a workshop organized atJohn Kaverdash Academy of Photography in Milan (Italy).
In 2018 he made his first short film Absence which received the Roberto Rossellini award for best screenplay at the Rome Short Film Festival (2018).
He currently lives and works in Lausanne.
