The Qatar National Museum (QNM) is located in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and is one of the country's most important museums. It opened in March 2019 and is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture, designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. The museum is a symbol of Qatar's history, culture and vision for the future.
The museum building is striking, with a design that recalls the shape of a desert rose, a natural phenomenon found in some desert areas of Qatar. Its organic and sinuous forms, composed of a series of overlapping discs, create an innovative structure that appears both modern and rooted in desert tradition. The architecture integrates perfectly with its surroundings and the city of Doha, combining elegance and functionality.

Maurizio was born in 1979 in Fermo, where he lived until the age of twenty. After spending several years away for work, he eventually settled in Liguria. Photography entered his life during adolescence, initially as a curiosity about the photographic process and its techniques, before gradually evolving into a personal and expressive necessity.
Today, Maurizio continues to photograph using his first analog camera, rediscovered through a more mature and conscious perspective. For him, photography represents an ongoing inner exploration — a constant dialogue with himself and with what he observes. Through his images, he seeks to go beyond appearances, transforming places and moments into emotional and narrative experiences.
The frequent travels connected to his work have strengthened his bond with photography, which over the years has become a means of creating deep connections between time, space, and lived emotions. Each image therefore becomes both a personal memory and a moment of inner growth.
Throughout his artistic journey, a progressive introspective evolution emerges: from landscape photography, long one of his greatest passions, to portrait photography, where his emotional and human research has become more focused. His gaze has gradually shifted from a broad and contemplative vision toward a more intimate and profound perspective. In his work, he constantly pursues compositional balance, aesthetic rigor, and authenticity, always paying close attention to image quality and detail.
