TITLE: Masjid Salam Mosque
Masjid Salam, also known as the "Mosque of Peace," in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, is a stunning architectural masterpiece that blends traditional Islamic design elements with modern aesthetic sensibilities. Located in the heart of the city, the mosque’s design reflects the rich cultural heritage of Oman while embracing contemporary features that contribute to a peaceful and contemplative atmosphere.
The mosque's layout and design foster an intimate and peaceful setting, perfect for individual reflection and collective worship. The simplicity and symmetry of the structure encourage a sense of balance and serenity, making it a sanctuary for worshippers seeking solace from the noise and chaos of daily life.
I captured the image of the mosque using natural light to highlight its architectural details. Then, in post-processing, I applied filters to enhance its tonal range, giving it a more dramatic and textured feel. To achieve the pencil sketch effect, I used a combination of contrast adjustments, creating soft, fine lines while retaining the original essence of the structure. The result is a blend of realism and artistic abstraction.

I am an Investment Banker by profession and photography is my hobby for 4 months in a year, since I am based in the hot weather of the Middle East region.
I am inclined to capture landscape and architecture images where there is absolutely no human presence in the photograph maybe reflecting the inner mindset of what I sometimes yearn to be....
