TITLE: Veil
Far from the raw stillness of the Qatari desert, this architectural canopy mimics the cosmos, blurring the line between design and the divine. A veil of light threads itself into rhythm, a man-made constellation draped across the frame like cosmic fabric in motion. Each dotted strand flickers with language unspoken, bending in waves not shaped by gravity or wind, but by some unseen breath. Veil invites the viewer to tune in, to listen for meaning in the indifferent hush of the surreal unknown.
AUTHOR: Karim Mokalled (Canada)
I am a student and a passionate hobbyist photographer, originally Lebanese; I grew up in Qatar, surrounded by scorching desert horizons, before moving to Montreal, a city of seasons and relentless snow. My journey with photography began quietly, a way to hold onto fleeting moments of wonder as I moved between cities and across countries.
Traveling often, I find myself drawn to the quiet intersections between people, landscapes, and memory; the spaces where cultures blend, where stillness speaks louder than motion. Photography became not just a hobby, but a language I could carry with me, no matter where I was in the world.
Through each image, I aim to share that sense of searching, belonging, and seeing beauty in both the extraordinary and the overlooked. Every frame is a fragment of the places that have shaped me, and the emotions that continue to move me.
