TITLE: Poems of the passing
Poems of the Passing is an ongoing street photography project capturing the quiet, fleeting moments of Basel’s city life. This series showcases the interplay of light, shadow, and color, revealing the ephemeral exchanges and solitary figures against the urban landscape. Each candid photograph offers a glimpse into the unscripted narratives of the streets, inviting viewers to appreciate the poetic subtleties of everyday moments. This project presents a unique, introspective view of Basel, highlighting the beauty and interest found in the mundane.
In this selection of Poems of the passing, the snowy and cold moments in the streets of my small hometown are represented in quiet and calm moments.
AUTHOR: Bastian Peter (Switzerland)
My name is Bastian Peter and I am a street photographer from Basel, Switzerland.
I shoot in color and black and white respectively.
Growing up in my family`s mask making atelier an early curiosity developed surrounding what lies beneath any facade.
Storytelling in many forms, especially photography and cinema fueled a passion for narrative and point of view. Self taught and with a growing interest and a hopefully evolving eye, my work has been evolving into the use of abstraction and light as a vehicle for emotion and storytelling.
My photos are, if not otherwise stated, always candid.
I am very thankful to participate at the Monovisions Awards in 2021.
