TITLE: Orchestrapunk
We are all familiar with photographs of classical music that convey an image of high culture. In "Orchestrapunk," I aim to present classical music in a completely new way—photographed through the eyes and visual language of punk. So, where is the connection between classical music and punk? Punk is known as one of the most honest musical styles. And even though the image conveyed of classical music is entirely different, classical music is incredibly honest and direct. In no other genre of music is it possible to look so deeply into the soul of a composer.
To create the greatest possible connection between the musicians and the audience the photos for my project were taken exclusively during rehearsals: At Carnegie Hall in NYC, the Salzburg Festival, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonie and other concert halls in Vienna, Salzburg and Munich.
