TITLE: The giants of the seas
On Reunion Island, in the Indian Ocean, we have the chance to see every year, during the southern winter (from June to September) the humpback whales that migrate from Antarctica to give rise and mate in the warm waters of Reunion.
During this period, I try to capture these beautiful giants of the seas in the best possible way.
Their meeting is always an unforgettable, moving, extraordinary moment.
We are all small in front of them and we must remain humble and as little disturbing as possible so that they can still amaze us for years!
AUTHOR: Jean-Siegfried LOUIS (Reunion)
52-year-old amateur photographer, passionate about photography for about twenty years.
I have lived on Reunion Island for 25 years and I initially took underwater photography to show my children the wonderful seabed.
The photo is for me a moment of meditation, where I become one with the nature that surrounds me.
Through my eyes I hope to show the beauty and fragility of our environment.
