TITLE: Visitor
The sardines in Moalboal, Philippines are an unknown phenomenon. No one is sure why they are there. I was travelling on my own and reached out to Irish over Instagram. Together we endeavoured into experimental play. Bridging the gap between the ocean and human connection is a phenomenon that not many wish to be a part of, those who dare to dip are rewarded with breathless moments that cannot be replicated out of the blue. A sardine bait ball, a strong aggregation yet fluid formation, is only felt through experience. These images are no deeper than 10m, it gets exhausting quickly for both of us on one breath. You lose light the deeper you go, visibility changes, the marine life is on its own clock - the possibilities are infinite, both the greatest and the missed takes.
