TITLE: Overtuned world

The photos are taken in the Yergaki Nature Park, located in the south of the Krasnoyarsk region in the Western Sayan Mountains. It is a pristine area in Siberia among lakes, taiga, rocks and mountain peaks. Here all the accepted canons of building a “classical” landscape go to hell. The area amazes the imagination with its unreality. There is a persistent feeling of being between dream and reality. And I, like the hero of the novel “The Overturned World”, try to realize this unreal reality by means of forms, lines and meanings, as well as to convey my emotions and sensations from what I have seen.

Every year I try to get to this harsh and inaccessible mountainous region to capture the epic power of the Sayan landscape. Working on the image of my native Siberia, I have to solve various coloristic and spatial problems. The photographs of the Sayan series are picturesque tales of unapproachable, silent mountain expanses.

From trip-to-trip Yergaki leaves a deep indelible trace in my thoughts and feelings!

Aleksandr Leshchenok is a landscape photographer and traveler from Siberia, member of the association of photographers “EURASIA”.

Aleksandr uses photography as a tool for inner dialogue. The forms of nature speak to the author in the language of human emotions. Exploring Siberian corners, the author is forced to understand himself, to be in constant contact with his inner feelings, to reflect on his role and purpose of existence, to realize the emotions that nature gives. Forest, mountains, water — all these are motifs for inspiration and reflection on concrete experience.

The author subtly and sincerely reveals the corners of the Siberian land. His works invite the viewer to enter the landscape, to become part of the scene and to feel at least for a moment the silence, tranquility and connection with the monumentality of nature.

Professionally, he has been working in interior design.
