TITLE: Double Vision
In-camera film double exposures represent a thought that is held in mind between both images. A thought that tells a story or shows a scene. Much like a storyboard for a movie, the shots are planned with a focal point and some improvisation. The burning of the black record sleeve over concrete serves as the background image of the songwriter in the streets. The majority of the images are shot on 35 mm film, yet a few are monochrome digitals.
AUTHOR: Zaki Daouk (United States)
I established ELEKTRYXX in early 2024 to publish my photographic. I chose to follow the art of Fumetto or Photo Comics to host a new series with black and white double exposure film photography within a comic book design. 90% of the photography for the series is shot on 35mm film with in-camera special effects to follow an analog approach and produce an original feel to the series. One of the stories has a blend of digital and film images to create another look yet remain in the same direction of 2 images in one.
The idea behind the Photo Comics series is for it to become a sidecar to future photography exhibits. The individual issues can be a catalog for an exhibit. After the comics, a comprehensive photo book includes past abstract work, color photography during the photo comics series work, and new monochrome and color multi-exposures, including complementary literary works.
