TITLE: ALTROVE
"Photography, like fog, enters the story of things. Fog is the medium, the vehicle that supports the narrative. It is the signature, the language, the distinctive mark. The sign is the constant search for a reference, within the fog."
Altrove is a black and white photographic project that explores the landscape as a space of the soul. The images—elegant and melancholic—depict real places enveloped in fog and crossed by glowing signs and lights, which emerge as symbolic presences in a suspended dimension.
The luminous elements—neon signs, headlights, street lamps—become silent protagonists in a narrative without human figures, yet deeply inhabited. Fog, whether real or digitally added, is not merely a backdrop: it is a language that blurs, reveals, and protects.
This work originates from my personal journey—through places encountered and preserved—transformed into visions that are both dreamlike and familiar. An emotional map composed of luminous solitudes and inner landscapes.
AUTHOR: Filippo Belletti (Italy)
Filippo Belletti is an Italian engineer and photographer, born in Modena in 1971. Fascinated by the descriptive photography of Gabriele Basilico and the formal rigor of the Emilian School, he turned his focus to architectural photography in 2010, attending Spazio Forma in Milan. In 2011, he began collaborating with professional studios and institutions, followed by his first personal projects in 2014.
Conceptual photography lies at the heart of his work: he assembles and juxtaposes architectural elements and luminous objects to tell a story. “Photography is a way of telling stories without words, a tool to explore the world and our imagination.” (Paolo Ventura).
