TITLE: Merge with the stars
This series belongs to the refuge project. www.refugio.info
There, I explore the concept (refuge) through poetry and photography.
Here's the associated poem:
I am not invisible,
but that's how I feel.
I plan to tattoo the universe
On my skin!
On starry nights
I will jump as high as I can to merge with the stars.
And become a god;
Invisible, but I will be there.
AUTHOR: Raúl Guillamón García (Spain)
Born in 1985 in Terrassa, Vallès Occidental (Catalonia), Raúl Guillamón began his education with studies in advertising design before delving into photography at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia (IEFC). He later specialized in lighting and nude photography under the guidance of Manel Esclusa. Currently, he lives with his family in the Catalan Pyrenees, an environment that has significantly influenced his life perspective.
Since 2004, his fascination with photographic technique has led him to develop innovative projects, notably his "deconstructivist technique in a single shot." His creative versatility has enabled him to collaborate as a designer with brands such as Coca-Cola, Danone, Audi, and Tous, among others, creating promotional designs. Throughout his career, he has maintained a balance between his commercial work, both in agencies and independently, and his artistic vocation, exhibiting his work in various spaces and formats.
His constant curiosity has led him to explore various artistic disciplines, such as creative writing, sumi-e, and glasswork, which have enriched his perspective and visual language. The loss of his two grandparents marked a turning point in his life and inspired him to delve into creative writing with El Mundo Diminuto (The Tiny World), a work for his family. During his early youth, he showed a deep attraction to contemporary art, although over time his creative evolution has led him toward projects with a clear humanistic focus, transforming real stories into graphic and audiovisual content.
In 2020, during the pandemic, his career took a significant turn with the founding of the NGO Visual Lives, an organization that gives visibility to social causes and strengthens communication for other non-profit organizations. In 2022, he began his first project as a documentary filmmaker with Niñas de Arena (Sand Girls), a film that captures his distinctive vision.
This new phase represents the culmination of his interests in art with social and environmental themes, areas that have always motivated him. His current objective focuses on professional evolution through the creation of artistic projects that, through creative, poetic, and visual means, raise awareness and stimulate critical thinking.
Among his personal experiences, his passion for paragliding and extreme sports over several years stands out, an activity that reflects his adventurous spirit and his constant search for new perspectives, both personally and artistically.
