TITLE: The Lady of Lilacs
Shot on a rainy day near the fountains of Place the la Concorde in Paris, I wanted to create an intimate and fragile portrait of the young Chinese woman, Qian Zhao, inspired by the allegory of beauty, darkness, and shadows in the essays on Japanese aesthetics by the novelist Junichiro Tanizaki.

Photography is my way of dealing with the world, people, stories, places, experiences. essentially it is a therapeutic activity that helps me survive in a world that is so difficult to comprehend. Moments of wonder and understanding are what sustain me in my work.
