"Why are you following me?" I asked her.
"Because I want to see myself on that little screen," she replied.

Oliver Ehmig was born in Hamburg in 1978.
He currently works and lives between Miami and Medellín, Colombia.
In 2000 before starting college, Oliver traveled to the Amazon for two months, carrying his 1st camera and 5 rolls of photographic film. When he returned home, a couple of nice and clear photographs were the result of that trip, and his 1st approach to the thing that years later will become his way of relating to the world: Photography.
Influenced by his travels and later by his life experiences working as a carpenter in Bahamas and short visit to Cuba, Oliver decided to become a photographer to be able to tell, in his own way, the stories of the people that influence our lives.
Among his most important achievements are the portraits he shot in a 6-year span for The Military Forces of Colombia, which helped change the perception of how Colombian people looked at the military men and women by showing a more intimate, human, and reflexive approach to their everyday life.
Oliver has taught himself how to perfect his photographic style, staying relevant, and digesting other photographers' knowledge through trial and error. And always, keeping a balance between documentary vision and listening to his inner Quixote.
His work has been published in different international media outlets.
