TITLE: Migration
I was on a terrace in the historic center of Florence when I noticed that thousands of starlings were gathering above the roofs and trees around me. I stood waiting a few hours, hoping that the start of the winter migration might pass right over the cathedral. When the birds rose into the air, I quickly composed the image, and in a few moments the picture I had been waiting for for so long was created. It almost seems as if the birds wanted to say goodbye to Brunelleschi's dome before setting off.
