TITLE: FAIRY GLEN GHOST
This image is based on a short essay by author Cal Flyn and her visit to Fairy Glen Waterfall in Scotland.
An excerpt from her essay as follows;
"The fairies that gave the glen their name were said to work here, purifying the stream for use by the houses downstream. Generations of lovers have etched their initials into smooth bark of surrounding trees—letters that have stretched and warped with the passage of time, as the trees have grown, scarred over, filled out.
As, of course, have we. The last time I was here I must have been seventeen. The broad strokes of me were drawn by then, but oh how they have bent and changed. To come here is to pass myself upon the path, walking in another direction. "
I wanted to convey the idea of a younger self visiting the falls 'walking in another direction', as well as the Victorian idea of Fairies visiting the fall. No AI was used the image was created in camera on location.
