TITLE: At the pinnacle
In this day and age of generative AI, this is probably one of those shots that immediately goes to the "hmmm, this looks manipulated" pile. However, I had already walked a few times past this dome in Canary Wharf (London, UK) and figured out what time of the morning it could catch some light. So, on another walk I brought my tripod with me and set up to take a zoomed in shot of the dome against the monotony of the façade of the One Canada square tower. The difference in shapes could work nicely, compressed by using a long lens...
Whilst I was there waiting and enjoying the light coming in from behind the clouds, a flock of seagulls would fly by every now and then. With a lot of patience (and granted, some element of "spray and pray") I managed to capture one of the seagulls in the exact position above the pinnacle of the dome.
In post-production I toned down the background and emphasized the light on the pinnacle and the bird, so there would be no question about what this shot is about...
