TITLE: The Sea in Me
This photo series was taken in Korean west and south coastal areas.
As a photographer, I strive to capture the essence of the sea that speaks to me. It's not just about taking beautiful photos of the waters and fishing villages, but about seeing the sea as a living and changing entity that reflects the ebb and flow of human emotions. The sea's calmness and hidden depths evoke a sense of comfort similar to a mother's embrace, while its rough and fierce nature speaks of a real space that struggles to fend off urbanization.
I want to capture the sea as a living ground and a prosperous ocean that is beautiful and powerful. The fishing boat paints her landscape on a blue canvas. The sea looks peaceful and serene from a distance, but once you step closer, you will learn its true nature.
Through my art, I want to express my desire for a sea that I can visit whether I feel happy or sad. A sea where I can share my deepest feelings and a sea that can give me a warm hug during tough times. In my photographs, I strive to capture the sea's essence, to convey its beauty, power, and ability to provide comfort and peace.
"The Sea in Me" poem deeply inspired me to approach my photography with a sense of connection to nature, and I hope my works can resonate with others who share the same love and respect for the sea.
