TITLE: Disko Dancing
This is a series of iceberg photographs taken in Disko Bay, near Ilulissat, Greenland. These are from a trip in July 2023 and the conditions were often quite still affording the opportunity to take photographs with reflections. The abstract details are also just as captivating as the big vistas and I have sought to show a range of images in this series, both intimate and more wide scale.
The Disko Bay ice giants are being calved from the nearby glacier at an ever increasing rate, owing to climate change. The landscape is ever moving, hence the "dancing" reference. We are seeing too much dancing in Disko Bay and we need to take heed.
AUTHOR: Robert Bolton (United Kingdom)
My name is Robert Bolton and I strive to be a fine art Photographer in my spare time, at least that is my mission! I am based in the UK but prior to the pandemic I travelled a lot with my day job and this allowed me to indulge my photography. I love seascapes, minimalism and the 'otherworldly'. We create our reality and I like mine tranquil, reflective and as simple as possible.
