TITLE: Mudfight

Shot with the models Torsten and Leaena, 'Mudfight' is intended as a dynamic, texture-rich play on struggle and conflict resolution. Given the political climate, it is inevitable that some will think of it as a commentary on the state of things. That was not our intent, but if others wish to interpret it that way, then I'm not going to protest.

AUTHOR: Brian Cann (Germany)

Born in England, moved to Germany to become American, but still living near Stuttgart, Germany. Taught math at school and university: was more interested in the processes of learning that the content. Studied photography. stopped. started again, motivated by early retirement and his wife. Specialization in the studio, then, slowly, outside. Portraits of athletes, many of them masters, morphed into figure studies and explorations in erotic and fetish photography, often with the same models: typically strong, fit, and older. The goal is non-exploitative, authentic portraits that stay away from cliche and in which his models are co-creators: collaborators in a process.
