TITLE: Flames
These photos show the moment of eruption and what has spewed out from underneath an active volcano called Mount Yasur, located in Tanna, Vanuatu.
I was lucky enough to encounter good weather without too much smoke when I took these photos. After climbing to the top of the mountain, I could see the erupting holes right down in front of me. When I looked down, and the moment I felt the air shock towards my face from the blast inside the volcano, I was stunned. It's like you can feel the superpower of Earth hidden underneath. Then I held my camera for more than an hour without a tripod, taking hundreds of pictures of burning ashes until the sun rose. The explosive activity may be disastrous but can also be gorgeous at the same time. Isn't this the beauty of Mother Nature?
