TITLE: Ailanthus Altissima
My idea was to transform these ordinary flowers of the tree of the gods into something extraordinary sculptural with the help of specially directed light. In something that you can theoretically put on a sideboard if it were a work of art instead of just a photo. By these flowers you can wonderfully see the beauty and attention to detail that nature recognises to living beings.
AUTHOR: Matthias Kuehle (Germany)
Holding the first Pentacon Six in hand at the age of 8, it took another 32 years until the first picture was taken from this very camera. That was not so much an initial spark as a self-discovery.
For me, the viewfinder is the window to the world. The world is analogue, square and achromatic. But sometimes also rectangular and colourful. Depending on the subject. I favour portraits and prefer working documentarily. My aim is to capture the moment and make changes visible and perceptible.
I have arrived, and yet that is just the beginning of my journey.
